Animal osteopathy

Canine and equine osteopathy

Animal osteopathy is gentle hands-on care adapted to the animal’s anatomy and physiology. Dogs are treated at the clinic, and horses are treated at their own stable.

Canine osteopathy

Canine osteopathy

Canine osteopathy appointments are offered weekly at the Lappeenranta clinic on Tuesdays.

€9050 min

Canine osteopathy is gentle hands-on care based on the same osteopathic principles as human treatment, adapted to the dog’s anatomy and physiology. The whole dog is treated, not only the painful area.

A dog cannot say where it hurts, but the body has its own language. Changes in behaviour, limping, stiffness or reluctance to move may indicate musculoskeletal strain.

For whom
  • limping, stiffness and mobility problems
  • hip and knee issues, osteoarthritis and back problems
  • support after surgery
  • maintenance and performance support for agility, show, hobby and working dogs
  • supporting quality of life for ageing dogs
  • support during a puppy’s growth phase and preventive care
  • behaviour changes that may be related to pain
The visitThe osteopath uses observation and hands-on assessment to find tense muscles, movement restrictions and joint dysfunctions. The appointment is 50 minutes.

Equine osteopathy

Equine osteopathy appointments and treatment location are arranged separately with the client

Equine osteopathy is manual care aiming for optimal function of the whole body. It is based on a holistic understanding of equine biomechanics and physiology.

The horse is an athlete whose body carries high demands. Even a small restriction in movement can lead to compensation patterns and wider problems over time.

For whom
  • back and neck stiffness, asymmetry and imbalance
  • decreased performance or reluctance to work
  • lameness and limb issues
  • support after injury
  • saddle-related muscle tension
  • regular maintenance for sport and leisure horses
  • supporting quality of life for ageing horses
The visitTreatment takes place at the stable in the horse’s own environment. Please get in touch and mention where the horse is located.
